Questions people ask
What is the minimum wage in 2026?+
920 € gross a month, paid 14 times. No IRS is withheld; only 11% Social Security (101,20 €), leaving 818,80 € net.
How is withholding worked out?+
Since 2023 a marginal rate is used: pay × rate − deduction − amount per dependant. On low pay the deduction depends on the pay itself, so a raise never lowers your net pay.
Are the holiday and Christmas allowances taxed more?+
No. Each allowance is taxed on its own with the same table, as if it were a salary, so its net equals a normal month's (without the meal allowance).
Which table applies if I'm married?+
Married and both earn: Table I. Married with one earner (or one earns 95%+ of the total): Table III. Single with dependants: Table II. Civil unions count as marriage.
